Description of the Barme – Bonavau section
We start by leaving the Barme Alpine Plateau via its eastern end, before zigzagging uphill towards the Signal de Bonavau (1,808m). This short climb through the pastures is very pleasant as it is still relatively shaded in the morning. We pass a pretty chalet where we can also refresh ourselves a little at the fountain before continuing on our way.
Once at the junction between the descent to the Refuge de Bonavau and the Signal, take the time to make a detour of just 300m to enjoy a magnificent view of Champéry from the summit.
From the Signal de Bonavau, you then retrace your steps and, at the junction, take a footpath that leads downhill. About 20 minutes later, you reach the beautiful terrace of the Refuge de Bonavau. This section is very easy; the path is clearly marked and signposted.
